Declaring a Major/Minor

Declaring the Major

Students entering UT as freshmen beginning in Fall 2013 will have declared a major during orientation, so what follows does not apply to them. Other students will need to make a declaration of major, and here's how to do that in Political Science:

To declare a major in political science, a student must complete the Application for Undergraduate Major, which is then submitted to Liam Hysjulien, Coordinator of Academic Advising, Department of Political Science, 1001 McClung Tower. A student may declare the major only after he/she has completed Political Science 101 (or Political Science 107) and Political Science 102. After a student has declared his/her major, he/she is assigned a faculty advisor. The faculty advisor assists the student in planning his/her program of study.
