Professors Buehler and Han win Research Grant to Study Xenophobia towards Migrants in the Middle East

Professors Matt Buehler and Kyung Joon Han (in collaboration with Dr. Kristin Fabbe) have received a research grant from Harvard University’s Middle East Initiative at the John F. Kennedy School of Government.  The grant will fund an original, nationally-representative public opinion poll that they will conduct in Morocco to investigate variation in prejudice towards sub-Saharan African and Arab refugees and migrants.  The project seeks to assess how theoretical explanations for xenophobic attitudes, developed primarily in Western Europe, manifest and play out differently in developing and non-democratic societies of the Arab world.
