Political Science in the News
What is happening in UT Political Science
Febuary, 5th, 2015
I was pleased to meet a number of you last night at the Sophomore Step Up. Political Science had one of the busiest tables at the event. We spoke to over 30 people. I think there were two sets of students there last night: those who were Political Science majors or minors and those who wished they could be.
A lot of the Political Science faculty are doing interesting research on gender equality, Latin America, the US Supreme Court, equality in the US, pregnancy rates for unwed mothers, conflict in the Middle East and in the Far East, and the power of interest groups, just to name a few.
Graduate students and undergraduate students are participating in various research projects. The following link http://polisci.utk.edu/honors-students.php shows some of the fascinating work that our undergraduates are doing. I hope you will take some time to see what they are up to.
Get involved with the Department and check out its organizations. Get some information on the major or internships or opportunities in the field. Go to our webpage (http://polisci.utk.edu//) and explore what we have to offer.
