Harper Earns Women’s Leadership Fellowship
Sarah Harper (’24) won a prestigious nonprofit management fellowship with the Women’s Public Leadership Network.
WPLN is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that educates, organizes, and inspires women to seek public office and become effective leaders. Fellowships are awarded to three upperclassmen or graduate students annually through a merit-based, national competition where applicants are selected based on their interest in women’s political involvement and goals of the organization. Nonprofit management fellows assist the organization with event planning and management, data analysis, social media marketing, external communications, and other duties.
Harper used her experience with WPLN to complete her Master of Public Administration capstone project, a quantitative geographic analysis of women’s political representation in Georgia, with an emphasis on state and local government. The results of this project will be used to direct planning of a 2025 campaign and leadership training event in the state.
Additionally, Harper will play a critical role in the planning and execution of WPLN’s 2025 National Summit in Orlando, Florida, which brings together women leaders in politics and business for a weekend of education and community.
