The Department of Political Science has three scholarship funds, each of which provides one or two scholarships a year for undergraduate students who are declared majors in political science.
The James O. and Minnie Elliott Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund provides scholarships for deserving and high ranking students in any branch of political science. Financial need is taken into account in granting these awards. Awards will be given to students who will be juniors or seniors during the year they receive the award.

The Ruth Stephens Scholarship Fund
This fund provides scholarships for students whose interests lay in international relations and/or comparative politics. Recipients must be juniors or seniors during the year they receive the award.

The Edgar G. Guenther Scholarship Fund
This fund provides scholarships for students whose interests lay in municipal government, planning, or related subjects. The Guenther Scholarship gives preference to residents of Kingsport , Tennessee.

Kathryn Barnett Green Book Award
The purpose of the award is to assist Political Science majors in the purchase of textbooks.

Hazen Moore International Relations Scholarship
The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding students with an International Affairs concentration or assist Political Science students participate in a study abroad program. Recipients must be pursuing a degree in Political Science with an International Affairs concentration. The Hazen Moore Scholarship gives preference to students originally from Tennessee.
